My technique is WAY better...
1. Go buy a giant cowbell.
2. When your dog start barking, start making noises with the bell.
3. When the dog stops barking, turns around and looks at you, stop the bell and say "Quiet". Timing is everything in this part. You want to stop the bell and say "Quiet" at the exact same time the dog stops barking.
4. Repeat this many many times so that the dog understand what "Quiet" means.
